Also used for spreading calcium or salt on ice or snow and is ideally suited for golf courses, nurseries, shopping centers, schools, highways, parks and other large grass areas. Amount of spread per acre of seeds may be controlled down to 3 lbs. per acre. Fertilizer from 50 lbs. to 1,000 lbs. per acre. No Special parts needed to change from seeds to fertilizer. Get any even spread with Herd's easy-adjusted pattern control. Even spread widths up to 40 ft. depending on density of fertilizer or seeds. Rotating agitator and fan driven by heavy- duty enclosed gearbox andshielded power take off shaft. Heavy cast iron gearbox has tapered roller bearings, drop forged gears and is filled with gear oil. Gearbox is standard for 540 rpm, but can be ordered for 1,000 rpm tractors also. Heavy duty 14 gauge steel hopper with welded seams. Round hopper base prevents corner lodging of material, assures better feeding. Rugged construction, including 2-inch square tubing frame with built-in stand.
